Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, who is a staunch supporter of Boris Johnson MP to become our next Prime Minister, recently led a pro-Boris rally in Thanet, to bolster support for his preferred candidate among Tory Party members in the Garden of England.
Mark headed up the pro-Boris rally, at the invitation of local MP for South Thanet, Craig McKinley MP and was also accompanied at the event by fellow Tory MPs and leading Eurosceptics, Mr Peter Bone (Wellingborough) and Mr Tom Pursglove (Corby).
At the Rally, Mark urged Conservative voters to back Boris, as he is the only candidate who was fully committed to Britain leaving the European Union by the 31st October, ‘come hell or high water’. Mark also argued that Boris has the experience and personality to defeat Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn MP and John McDonnell MP at a subsequent General Election – whenever that might come. At the end of the rally, Mark joined the other MPs and Conservative supporters holding up Banners reading ‘Kent Backs Boris’, which was a first for him as an Essex MP.
Commenting on this successful day, Mark Francois MP said:
“Very many Conservatives in Essex, including many members of my Rayleigh and Wickford Conservative Association, are already backing Boris and therefore it was heartening to see he enjoys a similar level of support from Conservative members on the other side of the Thames. I confess that as an Essex MP it was a slightly novel experience holding up a banner reading ‘Kent Backs Boris’, but I believe he is now gathering support from across the whole of the United Kingdom to become our next Prime Minister and keep the promise to the British people and lead us out of the European Union once and for all. That is ultimately why I am backing Boris and I was very pleased to hear that many members in Kent are now doing so as well.”
