Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois MP recently welcomed a group of year 7 and 8 students from Beauchamps High School when they visited the Houses of Parliament.
The pupils were taken on a tour of the Palace of Westminster, where they watched the Speaker’s Procession, before attending workshops at the Parliamentary Education Centre where they formed political parties and held their own mock General Election.
Mark spent time in a question and answer session with the group, during which he responded to subjects on his role as an MP, President Trump, the NHS and Police.
Speaking about the visit by Beauchamps High School, Mark said:
“It was a pleasure to welcome the students from Beauchamps to Parliament and see the fantastic Parliamentary Education Centre in use. I was impressed by the quality of questions the group asked of me and I am pleased the group enjoyed their day in Parliament. I look forward to remaining in touch with the school in the future.”
